2020 Athletics Attendance Plan 

 

Varsity Football 
  • Lamar Harrison Stadium will be at 30% capacity for football games this fall (according to the current city guidelines). 
  • Ticket priority will go to parents/families of players, band and cheerleaders. 
  • All tickets will be presale and there will be no tickets for sale at the stadium.
  • There will be a separate gate for home and visitors. In addition, the home and visiting crowds shall remain separated. 
  • Tickets will be $10 and we will not charge for parking to limit unnecessary contact and cash exchange. 
  • All who are in the stadium are expected to wear a mask.
  • Spectators may not congregate within six feet of a person from another household. The stands and common areas will be clearly marked to ensure social distancing. 
  • Spectators may not make physical contact with another person from another household.
  • Only essential personnel will be allowed on the field. This includes pregame and post game. Spectators will not be allowed to come onto the field following the game. 
  • Concessions - Only prepackaged items will be sold in the concession stands. Concession areas will be expanded to allow for distancing in lines. An additional concession area will be set up on the visitors side.

  • All gameday personnel including gate workers, concession workers, parking attendants, chain crew, press box crew and media will be pre-screened upon arrival. 
  • Spectators are expected to self screen before attending the event and are urged for the safety of all involved to stay away if feeling sick, running fever or experiencing other symptoms related to Covid 19. 
  • Hand sanitizer stations will be available at each gate and throughout both sides of the stadium.


 

Ticketing process for Varsity football games 

  • All tickets will be pre-sale only.
  • Tuesday of game week each football player, band member and cheerleader will be able to purchase (3) tickets for their family from Coach Adams at the kiosk in the lobby of the Administration Building. Any tickets not sold will be made available the next day to another group of spectators. 
  • Wednesday of game week any remaining tickets will be available (1) ticket per student until capacity is reached  with Seniors getting priority from 7:30am - 8:15am. The remaining unsold tickets will then be available for students in grades 9-12 from 8:15 - 8:45. Tickets will be $10
  • There will be no tickets available at the gate on game day. Only those with a ticket purchased through the athletic office in the aforementioned procedure will be allowed to enter the stadium. 
  • Visiting teams will be distributed their allotment of tickets on Monday of game week. These tickets are only available to the visiting school. 
  • For away games we will follow the same process, however the limit of tickets will be adjusted according to the number we receive from the host school. 
  • Be advised that when we play at a Mobile County school a clear bag policy will be in effect.

 

Additional guidelines 

  • Both teams will enter and exit the stadium in a designated location away from spectators.  
  • Bands will be distanced in the stands in accordance with the ADPH and CDC guidelines.
  • Cheerleaders will be distanced in designated locations away from spectators and the players in accordance with ADPH and CDC Guidelines.
  • Players will be spaced on the sidelines as the players/coaches box has been extended from the 10 yard line to 10 yard line. All sideline personnel including players and coaches must wear a mask. Only the 22 players involved in live play are not required to wear a mask. 
  • There will not be a spirit line as teams enter the field. Post game handshake lines have been eliminated as well. Spectators are prohibited from entering the playing field. 
  • Spectators are expected to leave the stadium area immediately following the game in a timely fashion and not congregate in large groups.  We ask that you go to your car if you are waiting for a player or participant instead of congregating in a large group in the parking lot or outside the locker rooms.

 

Volleyball Matches 
  • The gym will be at 30% capacity for all volleyball matches  (according to the current city guidelines). The max allowed for games in the gym at one time is 150 fans. We will split that down the middle and have 2 sections of bleachers for the visitors and 2 sections for MCS fans. 
  • Tickets will be available to be purchased online through the GoFan app. Tickets may be purchased at the gate by debit or credit card through the GoFan Box office cashless preferred program. The GoFan App is not ready yet so we will be doing cash until it is. Middle School admission is $5 per person and Varsity/JV admission is $6.  
  • We will monitor at the door the number for fans and may limit fans if we get to capacity.
  • To assist us in allowing as many to see their child play we ask that parents of players only watch the match that their child is playing in. 
  • Designated areas for visitor fans and home fans will be posted to ensure little to no crossover between fan bases. The bleachers will be marked clearly to allow for social distancing. 
  • Spectators are expected to self screen before attending the event and are urged for the safety of all involved to stay away if feeling sick, running fever or experiencing other symptoms related to Covid 19. 
  • Gameday personnel will be screened upon arriving at the gym.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be located in the gym and at the end of each bench.

Additional Guidelines

  • Vending machines in the gym lobby will be available for concessions. These machines are equipped to take coins, dollar bills and credit/debit cards. 
  • Team benches will be spaced with at least 3 feet between chairs and all bench personnel including coaches and those at the scorer’s table must wear a mask. 
  • Only the home scorer, libero tracker and scoreboard operator will be allowed at the scorers table and will be spaced 3 ft. minimum and 6ft if there is enough space.
  • Following the match spectators are expected to exit the gym in a timely manner and  not congregate on the court, the lobby or in the parking lot. We ask that you go outside or in your car as you wait for the players to exit the building.
