Hello! My name is Cathy McGaughy, known to the children at Mobile Christian as Mrs. Cathy. I have had the privilege of teaching children at MCS since 1986. I attended Auburn University and the University of South Alabama, receiving my degree in Early Childhood Education in 1986. This is my 20th year as the K5A teacher, since I have taken a few breaks along the way to stay home with my children. I am very passionate about helping young children to blossom and begin their educational journey with a love for God and for learning.
My husband Ed and I have been married for 26 years. We have four boys, all who have attended Mobile Christian School. Aaron, our oldest son, graduated in 2009. He attends Harding University in Arkansas, studying to be a nurse anesthetist. Caleb and Ethan, our twins, are in ninth grade this year, and our baby, Seth, is in the K4 class at MCS. We attend Creekwood Church of Christ, where our boys are active in the youth program. I am blessed to work with our VBS and teach the ladies Bible class.
I have a dear love for the mission at Mobile Christian School. I grew up as a student here myself, graduating in 1982. It was an honor and a very special moment to watch my son graduate from his mom's alma mater. I was able to look back and recall the many ways that I have been inspired by Christian teachers...and how my sons have been a part of that very same path
I believe that all children are gifted...and they will all open their gifts when they are ready!
