SCHOOL HOLIDAY: The Christmas holiday will start on Dec. 22nd . Students will report back to school on Tues., Jan. 6, 2009.
DISMISSAL TIMES FOR DEC. 17-19:
PK3-3rd grade: 11:15 4th and 5th grades: 11:20 6th - 12th grade: 11:30
CHICK-FIL-A: The Service Club will be selling Chick-fil-a biscuits on Thurs. morning, Dec. 18th, in front of the lunchroom. The cost is $2.00.
FISH FRY: MCS is conducting a combined fundraiser with Azalea City Christian School. Beginning in February we will have a Fish Fry on the first Saturday of each month during the school year. There will be an organizational meeting @ 6:30 pm on Tuesday, Jan 6, 2009 at Azalea City. There are a number of opportunities to assist, providing both schools with thousands of needed dollars. Please attend the meeting and see how you can get involved. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Wasden at 445-5329.
TIE HEAD T-SHIRTS: This Friday is the last day to order your 2008-2009 Tie head t-shirts for this basketball season. Order forms will be distributed to student's school wide. Extra order forms will be available in the front office and on the website at www.mobilechristian.org Order forms should be given to homeroom teachers before Friday at 12:00.

CONGRATULATIONS: Colby Herrington was selected to the All-County Cross Country Team. This award was given to the top 16 runners in Mobile County.
DONATIONS: If your family upgrades their TV during the holidays, we are in need of TVs. Please bring to one of the offices. Thank you for your continued support.
SAT Dates for K5-8th Grade Students: The test dates for the SATs are March 23-27.
ELEMENTARY PARENTS: Assistant Coaches needed for MSC Varsity and Junior High Track: If you have participated in track and field and are interested in assisting during the season, please contact either June Brining in the Upper Elementary office or Coach Brad Blanton. Thank you.
ENROLLMENT INFORMATION: Enrollment dates for the 2009-2010 school year are Jan. 6 - 30. Enrollment for new families opens on February 2, 2009. Families receive a 2% discount on tuition if they are enrolled/re-enrolled by March 1, 2009. Remember, any family that refers a NEW student to MCS (and that student applies and is accepted), will receive a $500 tuition discount. To receive this discount, the new student must place your name on the application as the one who referred them to MCS.

SENIOR NEWS
Kids Chance Scholarship is available to seniors whose parents have died or have become permanently disabled while at work. See Mrs. Coker for details.
Auburn's College of Engineering Scholarship info available in Mrs. Coker's office.
Burger King Scholarship available to seniors who work or have worked at least 15 hours a week and have at least a 2.5 GPA. See Mrs. Coker for details.
AXA Achievement Scholarship information available. This scholarship is for those students who have done community service work.
Linly Heflin Scholarship- four year scholarship in the amount of $3000 per year for Alabama women who have both economic need and a sound academic record. Minimum ACT 22. Applications available at www.linlyheflin.org
KFC Colonel's Scholars scholarship applications are now online at www.kfcscholars.org. This scholarship is for students who have a gpa of 2.75 or higher and intend to enroll in a public university.
Books-a-Million Creative Writing Scholarship- have you ever thought of writing a children's book? It could mean $5000 in scholarship money to you. See Mrs Coker for details.
American Legion Scholarship- available to Alabama residents who are children or grandchildren of military veterans. See Mrs. Coker for details.
Alfa scholarship- must be a member of Alfa (or parents). Must have GPA of 2.5. Deadline February 15.
