Elementary Technology

 

The Elementary Technology curriculum seeks to incorporate various aspects of current technology with cross-curriculum and Biblical standards training.  One of the most exciting additions to our classrooms has been the Smart Boards. These tools allow for greater teacher-student interaction and benefit in reenforcement of concepts. Students' exposure to  hardware and software will grow with each year of their Technology training, as will the time they spend each week in the Elementary Computer Lab.  Below is list of some of the basics included in the Elementary Technology curriculum:                    

 
  • Understanding of the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Word, PowerPoint, Picture Manager and Excel)
  • Basic web design
  • Touch typing for speed and accuracy
  • Fundamental computing skills 
  • Fundamental Windows navigation
  • Internet safety and navigation
  • Blogging
  • Digital photography 
  • Digital videography
